A guide to Palo Alto hotspots

Logistics Add comments

Valleywag has published a guide to Palo Alto hotspots and guess what comes out on top? Coupa Cafe, as previously recommended on this blog by Nicole Simon and conveniently located around the corner from the Cardinal Hotel :)

In fact it seems that Coupa is the new Bucks“You couldn’t swing a dead cat yesterday at Coupa Café in downtown Palo Alto without hitting a VC, an angel investor, a startup CEO or five wanna-be startup CEOs. Clearly this small spot (get the Venezuelan spicy hot chocolate) is the meet-and-greet place of choice for the latest generation of startup stars – especially the Web 2.0 crowd.”

But in case you can’t get a seat on that hallowed turf Valleywag lists a number of alternatives which we’ve now added to the Paddy’s Valley map.

Coincidentally I just saw Tara Hunt’s tweet – http://twitter.com/missrogue/statuses/152855022 – “Coworking in Palo Alto at SocialText offices. Was just in Coupa getting a coffee and saw loads of potential coworkers.” Seems like an interesting place to hang out.

Nobody goes to Coupa any more — it’s too crowded. I’m an Irishman in a stealth startup in Mountain View and I should be around at the start of December. I’ll try to keep track of the PV project — it seems like a great idea.

Darn, will it be the same in December Brian? Pity. Where else around there is good?

I like Cafe del Doge on University and Neotte is nice too. Joking aside, Coupa is probably the best place to glimpse web 2.0 types (if you can get a seat). I don’t go there any more though.
